"O politickej a ľudskej zodpovednosti II."
K parlamentným voľbám 2016

V rokoch 1993, 1998, 2002 a v roku 2006 pred voľbami do Národnej rady SR sme pripravili diskusné fóra s jednotlivými politickými stranami a ich lídrami.

Diverzifikovať ekonomiku inými odvetviami, najmä potravinárstvom, cestovným ruchom a najnovšími technológiami.

Pred rokmi sme politickým lídrom poskytli našu osnovu, o čom by mali hovoriť v súvislosti s blízkou a vzdialenejšou budúcnosťou : o bytoch - o streche nad hlavou, o zdraví a fyzickej zdatnosti, o mravnosti a morálnej sile, o vzdelanosti a kultúrnosti, o bezpečnosti a dôstojnosti každého občana.

Marazmus vo svetovom hospodárstve, no i v niektorých štátoch eurozóny a jeho pretrvávanie nám totiž už neposkytujú žiadnu inú možnosť. Musíme si pomôcť využitím jestvujúcich domácich surovín a zdrojov, ale aj tradícií a to hlavne zainteresovaním obyvateľstva, aby investovalo svoje peniaze do domácich projektov.

Sme pred parlamentnými voľbami. Naším najtvrdším problémom je nevyhnutnosť zmeny myslenia. Aby bolo spravidla kreatívne, humánne, odborné a zmysluplné.

"On political and human responsibility II"
On the 2016 parliamentary elections

During the run-up to elections for the National Council of the Slovak Republic (the Slovak parliament) in 1993, 1998, 2002, and 2006, we organised discussion forums with the various political parties and their leaders. However, in 2010 and also two years afterwards we got "hints" from all political parties that they did not wish to participate in such forums unless they could use them as platforms for presenting their own achievements and uniqueness guaranteeing a "bright future". Our positions remained unchanged and we therefore repeat the main message of our declaration made in 2010.

Various attempts of successive governments and representatives of relevant political parties, as well as of research institutions, to chart the course of our economic and social development have proven ineffective and even devoid of any sense. We are clearly not unique in anything, except perhaps in our complacency regarding economic performance of the country or "social packages" that sacrifice the merit principle to false solidarity.

There are two things to be done. Firstly, diversify the economy through expanding other sectors, particularly the food industry, tourism and state-of-the-art technologies. Secondly, to reconstruct the Slovak economy as a parallel process. Rigid adherence to positive forecasts and exposure to the mercy of foreign capital would backlash in a deterioration of the quality of life, which is already far from desirable.

It is essential to create tens of thousands of new and permanent job positions with a completely new character. The issue of enforceability of the law calls for rigorous action, and legal certainty and protection must be guaranteed to all citizens without distinction. We believe, however, that this will not be possible without addressing the issue of the Roma population in a radical, rapid, and effective manner.

Some years ago, we presented our political leaders our ideas concerning the issues they should focus on in the medium and long-term future: the housing – provision of shelter, health and physical fitness, morality and moral strength, education and cultural awareness, safety and dignity of every citizen. However, the only thing that can be noted in connection with the fulfilment of our politicians’ objectives or promises is that our today’s situation is not worse than it was five years ago.

It is our goal to make the wisdom of our people become a counsellor or even the closest collaborator of the new government. In fact, the crumbling global economy, as well as persistent economic hardships in some euro area countries, leave us with no other choice. To this end, we must draw on our domestic raw materials and resources, but also on our traditions; in particular, we must motivate the population to invest their money in local projects.

We are heading towards parliamentary elections. The biggest challenge before us is the need to change our way of thinking to make it more creative, humane, professional, and substantial. However, it is in fashion in this country to make obstructions, and also to display arrogance as a member of the newly-created social class of "miraculously wealthy and ever wealthier parvenus".

The new government will have to start taking into account that there is a significant mass of people who wish that progress be made in addressing the problems outlined above in general terms. Those people could unite in their efforts to address these problems and we could finally embark on the road of the real transformation of Slovakia so as to ensure human happiness better than in the rest of the world.

Although we have the ideas and even the knowledge necessary for their implementation, we are, so to say, more Slovak than we think. Once and for all, we need to pursue the ambition to be better and to be the best. We must abandon mediocrity and, first and foremost, we must bring to a halt the devastation of human relations.

In contrast to the government, to the opposition parties and to other actors of our society, we believe that people are entitled to at least one drop of optimism when looking ahead. Even more so, because during the last 20 years instead of enabling people to elect their representatives in a truly democratic manner, we have a single constituency which has a retardant effect on social relations and on our development in general.
